Ph.D. research assistant and postdoctoral associate positions in the areas of bioinformatics and biomedical signal/image processing are available in Weichuan Yu’s group at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). Currently we are focusing on the following three topics: Genome-wide SNP data analysis, Mass spectrometry data analysis, and Ultrasound image analysis.

HKUST is a young and highly dynamic university. It offers a very stimulating environment for rigorous research. The campus locates at the beautiful Clear Water Bay and provides superb conditions for comfortable living. Hong Kong is a vital, international city enjoying the unique interaction between oriental and western culture.

The ideal candidate should be majored in computer science, electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, applied mathematics, or statistics. Expected are solid mathematical/statistical background, strong programming skills, and keen desire of carrying out first-class research in biomedical engineering, especially from the data analysis point of view. Biological knowledge is a plus but not a must.
