• Ph.D Position (I DO NOT take M.Phil applications)
  • Research assistantships for Ph.D students are available. Leading to the Ph.D degree, positions require active and extensive research on high-performance mixed-signal IC, or bio-medical devices. Research can include combinations of following areas: mixed-signal IC design, testing, device fabrication, characterization and experiment.

    Applicant should be highly motivated on research in these areas. Requirements for

    1. Undergraduate applicants: Applicants are expected to  have outstanding academic record with solid research experience. Applicants should have research experience besides course projects in areas of circuit design, circuit-oriented device fabrication. Research capability and potential in the area of IC design should be demonstrated.
    2. Applicants with Master degree: Applicants should have hands-on IC design experience with a strong research record. Research publication is a MUST. It is an important evaluation criterion.

    Good English capabilities for listening, and writing are required. Required skills: Cadence, Linux, Matlab, Verilog/VHDL, board-level hardware debugging skills.

  • Post-doctoral Position
  • (Positions on  analog IC, sensing device, cellular bio-engineering and speech enhancement algorithm are available)

    Post-doc positions are available for motivated Ph.D graduates in following areas: high-speed, low-noise, analog front-end and mixed-signal circuits; MEMS sensing devices; cellular-level biological experimentation; Speech enhancement algorithm. Successful post-doc candidates require to perform fast-pace self-motivated frontier research in one or multiple of the following areas: analog sensing, mixed-signal processing, data transmission, high-throughput sensing devices, in-vivo cellular recording, speech enhancement algorithm. The successful candidates are expected to lead graduate students in a highly competitive research environment, and contribute research initiatives.

    Successful applicant should demonstrate the record and potential for high-quality research. He/She should have successful analog IC-tapeout/device fabrication/biological measurement/algorithm development experience and publication record in major IC, device, and biological journals. Strong self-motivation on research is a MUST. Strong collaboration skill is highly appreciated.

    Required skills: Cadence, Linux, VerilogA, Matlab, Synopsys tools; Schematic and layout design experience; successful tape-out and chip-testing experience;
